Our apiary is called Brookfield because it sits at the home where Richard grew up. These bees are part of the family story.

What's the code on my lid? Beekeepers mark their queens with a dab of colour that changes each year, using an international five-colour cycle: White (years ending 1 or 6), Yellow (2 or 7), Red (3 or 8), Green (4 or 9) and Blue (5 or 0). Our batch codes borrow the same idea. The letter is that year's colour, the next digit is the year, and the last four digits are the harvest day and month.
